Mazda Motor Corporation’s production and sales results for December 2007 and for the period January through December 2007 are summarized below.

I. Production

Note: As of January 2007, overseas production figures are based on Mazda brand units coming off the production line (does not include CKD kits).

1. Domestic Production
(1) December 2007
The domestic production volume for December 2007 exceeded the figure for the same month last year, up 8.7% compared to December 2006. This increase was mainly due to the addition of Mazda2 (Demio in Japan) production for the European market and increased production of the Mazda3 (Axela), Mazda MX-5 (Roadster) and CX-7.

(2) January through December 2007
The domestic production volume for the period January through December exceeded the figure for the same period in 2006, up 3.0%. This was mainly due to increased production of the Mazda3 (Axela), CX-7, CX-9 and the transfer of Mazda2 (Demio) production for the European market to Japan in July 2007.

2. Overseas production
(1) December 2007
The overseas production volume was below the figure for the same month last year, down 9.5% on December 2006, despite healthy production of the Mazda6, Mazda3, and Mazda2. This is attributable mainly to the end of Familia and Premacy production in China since FAW Haima established itself as an independent brand.

(2) January through December 2007
The overseas production volume for January through December 2007 was below the figure for the same period in 2006, down by 15.6% year-on-year, despite healthy production of the Mazda3 and BT-50. This is attributable mainly to the end of Familia and Premacy production in China since FAW established itself as an independent brand.

II. Domestic sales

(1) December 2007
Domestic sales of the Mazda2 (Demio in Japan) and Mazda5 (Premacy) were healthy due to the new model impact on sales. However, December 2007 domestic sales were down 1.6% year-on-year.
Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 4.9%, up 0.4 points compared to the same month last year, with a 2.6% share of the micro-mini segment (up 0.1 points) and a 4.1% total market share (up 0.3 points compared to December 2006).

(2) January through December 2007
The domestic sales volume for the period January through December 2007 was below the figure for the same period in 2006, down 6.0% year-on-year, despite healthy sales of the Mazda2 (Demio) and micro-minis.
Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 5.8%, unchanged from last year, with a 2.9% share of the micro-mini segment (up 0.2 points) and a 4.7% total market share (unchanged from last year).

III. Exports

(1) December 2007
December 2007 exports exceeded the volume of the same month in 2006, up 33.3% year-on-year, mainly due increased shipments resulting from healthy sales of the Mazda2 and Mazda3, and the launch of the all-new Mazda6 in Europe.
On a market basis, exports to Europe and other regions (the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Latin America) were brisk.

(2) January through December 2007
Exports for January through December 2007 exceeded the figure for the same period last year, up 11.4% year-on-year, mainly due to robust sales of the Mazda2 and Mazda3.
On a market basis, exports to Europe and other regions (the Middle East, Africa and Latin America) were particularly strong.
